I have been practicing in the mental health field since 2002. I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and completed my Clinical Master of Social Work in 2006. I began private practice in 2008 and most recently, together with Jill Willer, I have owned, operated, and practiced within Cornerstone Counseling since 2012. Our passion has always been integrative care and we were thrilled to open the Cornerstone Wellness Center in 2016.
My experiences include: providing counseling at the outpatient clinic for Community Care, providing individual and group counseling in an intensive outpatient program at St. Marys Regional Medical Center, and most recently providing individual and group counseling in private practice. I specialize in the treatment of Post-Traumatic Stress and other anxiety disorders; bereavement; stress management; and chronic pain management. I primarily provide individual therapy for adolescents and adults.
My philosophy is based on the belief that people can achieve resolution of problems and restore balance in their lives with proper education, support, and guidance. My treatment approach builds on each person’s unique strengths and needs in collaboration with appropriate strategies and techniques.
My treatment techniques are heavily focused on nervous system functioning and the various aspects of our lives that impact our bodies and brains and, thereby, our nervous systems. I have advanced training in the treatment of trauma, practicing Accelerated Resolution Therapy® (ART), and am Certified as a Master ART Practitioner. I am also Certified in Integrative Medicine for Mental Health. In addition to these certifications, I am trained in the Developmental Needs Meeting Strategy, Positive Psychology, Emotional Freedom Technique and Polyvagal Theory.
