Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, Conditional

My practice is grounded in humanistic theory.  I believe the most important part of counseling is our relationship – we will take all the time that is needed to build trust and comfort.  You are the expert on your life and I’ll strive to understand your experience as fully as possible.  We’ll work to integrate thoughts and emotions so you are prepared to meet the challenges in life.  I also use directive approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy.  We’ll work together to figure out what is most helpful for you.

Above all, I believe that seeking counseling is not a sign of weakness.  Rather, it indicates you have both the wisdom to recognize that you are not living life the way you want and the courage to make change happen.  By reaching out you are choosing to do more than just get by; you are choosing to live.

In my private practice I work with adolescents and adults to address a range of issues, including: anxiety, depression, grief/loss, stress, sleep problems, family/relationship difficulties, and low self-esteem/self-image. I also have significant experience working with queer, transgender, and other LGBTQ+ clients, and my office is a safe space for all, regardless of identity.
